Part-Time Community Engagement Coordinator Job Description

PFC is currently seeking a part-time season OR year-round Community Engagement Coordinator to nurture external community engagement and support, and support internal grassroots community connection; to assist with two-way communications that honor a diversity of cultures, skills sets, and traditions; to execute a streamlined communication and engagement vision with the external community through tours, programming, on-site events, outreach events and presentations, community celebrations, corporate partnerships and robust volunteer programming. Through a creative problem-solving approach, the Community Engagement Coordinator will cultivate high quality internal and external community relationships.

Job Description: 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Development & Community Impact Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator to raise awareness of Providence Farm Collective; nurture stakeholder, community member, and farmer relationships; develop and implement volunteer programming to promote community engagement; foster positive community relationships internally and externally.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, and identity of Providence Farm Collective.
  • Create an annual strategy for community engagement that prioritizes internal and external communications that are culturally responsive, transparent, informative, empowering, and that inspire, mobilize, and engage all.
  • Co-manage and coordinate volunteers, volunteer events and activities.
  • Co-manage and coordinate school field trips, on- and off-site events, tours, and educational workshops specific to the promotion of Providence Farm Collective.
  • Create metrics and tools to assess the impact of programs you lead.
  • Create and present yearly reports on impact and progress of programs.
  • Work with the Marketing Coordinator to collect stories and share news of what is happening at the Farm.
  • Keep up-to-date on trends, resources, and information related to community engagement.
  • Step in and help to “get the job done” as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A BA or BS in psychology, communications, or a similar field, or commensurate work and life experience.
  • Embody the core values of diversity, equity, inclusiveness, grassroots organizing, justice, and education.
  • Excellent leadership, management, team building, and communications skills.
  • Professional in interpersonal relations and communications.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work well independently and with others.
  • Self-directed, resourceful, responsive, and efficient.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a busy environment.
  • Completes assignments on-time.
  • Proficiency using tools including donor management software, content management systems, Salesforce, Canva, and all MS Office Suite.
  • Languages such as Burmese or Swahili a plus.

Farm Season: May through October the job consists of 20 hours per week.

Tuesdays: 8:00am – 1:00pm Work with volunteers to harvest flowers and create bouquets for markets.

Wednesdays: 8:00am – 1:00pm Participate in team meeting; work with Farm Director and Farm Mentor on internal communication with farmers; other work as assigned.

Thursdays: 9:00am – 2:00pm Be available for scheduled tours from 11am-1pm; other work as assigned.

Fridays: 9:00am – 2:00pm Work with volunteers to weed and deadhead flowers in the Giving Garden; other work as assigned.

 

Winter Season: November through April the job consists of 8-12 hours per week.

Schedule will be assigned on a monthly basis.

 

Compensation:

This part-time position pays $22.00/hour, and the employee is entitled to 1 hour of PSL for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per year.
